INNOVISION Technology has officially launched its next-generation microdisplay chip, Chimo® M06. The product has successfully completed validation in end-user smart glasses and has entered mass production and delivery. As the world’s first mass-produced 2.5μm silicon-based microdisplay integrated directly into end devices, Chimo® M06 delivers ultra-lightweight design, ultra-low power consumption, and high performance, paving the way for AR glasses to transition into consumer-grade, everyday wearable form factors and addressing the industry’s longstanding challenge of balancing performance, battery life, and weight.

The Chimo® M06 is built on Novatech’s independently developed WLVSP® pixel-stacking technology, featuring a 2.5 μm pixel size, a resolution of 540 × 280, and a pixel density as high as 10,000 PPI. Its module size is only 35% of that of the previous-generation 0.13-inch micro-display module, further enhancing its miniaturization capabilities. The accompanying light engine, theChimo® M06E, boasts an ultra-compact volume of just 0.03 cc and a weight of only 0.08 g—representing a substantial reduction compared with the previous-generation 0.15 cc light engine. This significant size reduction frees up more space for AR glasses design, better meeting the demand for lightweight, everyday wear. In addition, the product employs LGA packaging, enabling the display module to be manufactured as a standard component that can be readily adapted to various FPC form factors, thereby offering greater flexibility in form-factor design and substantially improving the versatility and adaptability of end-device integration.

In terms of power consumption, the Chimo® M06 leverages a low-power (LP) CMOS-driven backplane architecture and a minimalist product design, achieving a standby power draw as low as 1.5 mW. This enables all-day wear, effectively addressing the longstanding industry challenge of balancing battery life with device weight. Additionally, the product supports standard QSPI/SPI interfaces, delivering excellent display performance and system compatibility while maintaining a compact form factor and high level of integration, making it suitable for a wider range of application scenarios.
The official launch of the Chimo® M06 marks the maturation of Novatech’s next-generation 2.5μm silicon-based Micro-LED microdisplay platform, providing critical hardware support for the commercialization of AR glasses. On the product front, the Chimo® series now offers a comprehensive portfolio ranging from monochrome (M series) to multi-color (P series). In addition to the newly unveiled M06, the M series includes the 0.13-inch Chimo® M13 with 4μm pixels and its corresponding optical engine, the M13E. Looking ahead, Novatech plans to introduce the Chimo® P series in the second quarter of 2026, further expanding its product lineup to address a broader range of microdisplay needs and end-use applications.
Looking ahead, INNOVISION will remain committed to innovating silicon-based Micro-LED micro-display technologies, accelerating the commercialization of more micro-display products, and driving the development and widespread adoption of near-eye displays, digital lighting, optical communications, and other industries. The company will leverage technological R&D and product innovation to continuously upgrade industry solutions.
