With excellent characteristics of high luminous efficiency, high brightness, short response time and good reliability, Micro-LED display chips are the core display units of the next-generation mobile computing platforms and the most ideal physical basis for visual presentation in the cutting-edge technology field of combining artificial intelligence and XR. INNOVISION (Suzhou) Co., Ltd., established in October 2021, is a start-up enterprise dedicated to commercializing Micro-LED display chip technology and providing solutions for customers in the Micro-LED display field. Having been involved in the Micro-LED field for many years, the team is the first one to deeply integrate integrated circuit manufacturing technology and Micro-LED chip technology in China, with rich manufacturing experience in the fields of integrated circuits and displays.


The company uses the VSP (Vertically Stacked Pixels) technology to break through the physical limitations of difficult pixel miniaturization in the Micro-LED display field, and create high-performance Micro-LED display chips. It has achieved complete autonomy and controllability ranging from product design, R&D and manufacturing to packaging and testing by means of IDM (Semiconductor Integrated Device Manufacturer) mode. This technology solution performs excellently in chip miniaturization, high brightness and low power consumption, and is widely regarded as the ultimate solution for Micro-LED industrialization in the industry. The product will be widely used in AR glasses, HUD, intelligent car lights, smart phones, micro projection, 3D printing and other fields. It has achieved wafer level vertical integration of AlGaInP and GaN material systems, and completed the lighting-up of RGB-stacking chips, which is undoubtedly another major breakthrough for INNOVISION after successfully lighting up the world's smallest 0.12" monochrome RGB Micro-LED display chips.


The company has made in-dept cooperation with Hunan University. They have fully leveraged their complementary advantages in industrialization and scientific research, exploring and implementing a new model of industry-university-research cooperation, and jointly forming an industry-university-research team. Guided by industrial applications, they have fully implemented the concept of scientific research serving the industry, jointly overcoming the relevant difficulties in the R&D of Micro-LED display chips. At the same time, under the leadership of professional industrialization technicians of the company, it has built and improved the micro-nano processing platform of Hunan Institute of Optoelectronic Integration, realizing the process flow of semiconductor integrated circuits and micro-LED display chips throughout the entire process, and achieving full process experiments on graduates' related research projects. This has greatly improved the teaching efficiency and quality of the School of Materials Science and Engineering of Hunan University in the fields of semiconductor micro-nano processing and Micro-LED, and has contributed considerable strength to the cultivation of talents in relevant fields for the country.


The Micro-LED display chip project of INNOVISION (Zhejiang) Co., Ltd., as the first mass production line settled in Deqing, Zhejiang, was put into operation in late 2024. The first phase of the project involves the construction of a 4" chip factory with a total investment of over RMB 200,000,000, including more than 10,000m2 of Class 100/Class 1,000 cleanroom. Its production capacity can reach tens of millions of Micro-LED display chips, thus continuously providing core power for the optical engine of the next-generation AI+AR mobile computing platform.
