Recently, INNOVISION successfully lit up the world's first XGA vertically stacked full-color Micro-LED display chip, which uses WLVSP™ (wafer level vertically stacked pixels, abbreviated as VSP) technology solution to integrate RGB and CMOS driver backplane, marking a significant breakthrough in INNOVISION's Micro-LED display single-chip full-color core technology.
INNOVISION is a start-up enterprise dedicated to commercializing Micro-LED display chip technology and providing solutions for customers in the Micro-LED display field. Its VSP technology platform can break through the limitations of difficult pixel miniaturization in the Micro-LED display field, and create high-performance Micro-LED display chips.
Single-chip full-color chip is the ultimate challenge for Micro-LED displays. Currently, commercial color solutions are achieved through the assembly of red, green and blue chips with prisms to form a combined light solution. However, the combined light solution has limitations in size, efficiency and cost. INNOVISION's lighting-up of single-chip full-color chips will accelerate the commercialization process of Micro-LED display colorization.
This chip lighting-up adopts the innovative VSP technology independently developed by INNOVISION. The technology solution deeply integrates the integrated circuit process and LED. By stacking multiple light-emitting units in the vertical direction, it can integrate the advantages of large-scale epitaxy, homogeneous integration and extremely small pixel size, achieving comprehensive breakthroughs in cost, yield, and performance. It is expected to become the best technical solution for the commercialization of Micro-LED display chips.
Advanced technology and leading manufacturing processes accelerate the commercialization process of INNOVISION. In September 2023, INNOVISION successfully launched the VSP process flow and achieved vertical integration of AlGaInP and GaN material systems. In March 2024, INNOVISION lit up active driving single-chip full-color vertically stacked micro-display chips, which was another major breakthrough for INNOVISION after lighting up the world's smallest 0.12" monochrome micro-display chips. In the next stage, INNOVISION will continue to focus on promoting the performance optimization of single-chip full-color Micro-LED display chips and achieving mass production at the fastest speed.
